Music teacher hits a high note with national award

Dr Jolanta Kalandyk-Gallagher, Convenor of the Early Childhood Music Program in the ANU School of Music, has won a teaching award for promoting musical ability in youngsters.
Dr Gallagher has won a National Excellence in Teaching Award (NEiTA) for creating an outstanding music teaching environment that encourages students to use their creative abilities to the fullest extent.
Dr Gallagher is one of 60 teachers to receive the award nationally. She was selected from 1400 teachers nominated across the country as part of the NEiTA Inspirational Teaching Award program. As the music program convenor and teacher, she has developed a unique music program, helping young participants to achieve their maximum potential and to nurture their well-being.
